EXPLORE AUSTRALIA’S MARINE ENVIRONMENT

MARINE STUDIES

Marine Studies allows students to explore the marine environment and the impacts humans have upon it. In our marine studies courses you will explore the species and biodiversity of marine ecosystems, and the influence human interaction has upon the delicate balance between species. This includes exploring the analytical techniques used to measure the health of marine ecosystems, and flow of energy between different species within ecosystems.  The study of marine science is centred in our dedicated marine science facility, and in local field environments. Students are expected to engage with field activities on and in the water to observe species in their natural environment.

STUDY IN AUSTRALIA

MUSIC

In music students work both individually and in groups to develop skills in their chosen instrument, and perform at a host of events both within and outside of the school environment. Instrumental music lessons are also available to students. Digital music production, recording and engineering are other key elements of the curriculum, with cutting-edge resources and technology available for students to use. Our purpose built professional recording studio, with vocal booth, control room and band room, allows students to collaborate, record and master their tracks

Performing provides students with the opportunity to develop confidence, resilience and teamwork skills, and many students state that their most treasured memories of their time at school involve such events. Hallett Cove School has a proud tradition of involvement in renowned arts events such as Wakakirri, Come Out, Arts Showcases, Choreographic Awards Nights, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, and end of year productions. Further opportunities exist for students to perform at formal school assemblies, presentation and graduation nights, open day and night, art exhibitions, theatre productions, parent showcases, talent quests and a host of other school functions and events.
